Beyonce, the queen of pop, dominated the Grammy Awards on Sunday, setting a new record for victories with her fourth award of the evening and 32nd overall.
The release of "Renaissance," the 41-year-complex, old's rich homage to club music, gave her nine chances to win a Grammy for best dance album.
She claimed the distinction by defeating the late classical conductor Georg Solti, who had 31 awards, by winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album for her big hit "Renaissance."
"I'm making an effort not to get worked up. As her peers watched the historic event, Queen Bey stated, "And I'm trying to just receive this night," donning a dazzling, figure-hugging gown and wearing her hair in mermaid waves.
Beyonce expressed gratitude to her family and paid special appreciation to the LGBTQ community, whom she attributed with creating the genre in question. Her historically rich album honors the forefathers of funk, soul, rap, dance music, and disco.
Beyonce continues to be a strong contender for the night's top honors, album, record, and song of the year. However, British balladeer Adele, whose introspective album "30" won her seven nods, is also a strong contender.
The 2023 contest has drawn comparisons to the 2017 competition, in which Adele won the top honors at the opulent music industry gala and eliminated Queen Bey's ground-breaking "Lemonade."
Beyonce continues to be a bit of an underdog in those categories while shattering record after record when it comes to the major three honors.
She has never received Album of the Year awards, and despite receiving the most nominations for Record of the Year—eight—she has also never taken home the trophy.
She won Song of the Year just once, for "Single Ladies" in 2008.
– Carlile, Lamar with three wins each –

"Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers" was one of Lamar's most difficult records to create.
And it made it possible for me to share my experiences as well as those of others. I want to thank the culture for letting me develop so I could create a song as I reflect on where I first started rapping and how far I've come
Actress Viola Davis won the Grammy for outstanding audio book, narration, and narrative for her memoir "Finding Me," making her the most recent luminary in show business to achieve the coveted EGOT – winner of an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
Harry Styles jumped out of the gate by winning the prize for best pop vocal album for his record "Harry's House" after Bad Bunny brought the crowd to its feet during the opening performance of the 65th annual Grammys ceremony.
“Thank you so much. This album, from start to finish, has been the greatest experience of my life,” he said onstage.
Styles, Lizzo, and Mary J. Blige all performed at the 65th annual gala, which was once again hosted by comedian Trevor Noah. There was also a vivacious tribute to hip-hop music with a galaxy of stars.
The award for Best Musica Urbana album went to Bad Bunny, unquestionably the biggest commercial musician in the world, for his major release "Un Verano Sin Ti," which was also up for Album of the Year.
He accepted his medal by saying in his native Spanish, "Thank you to all Latinos across the entire world. "We'll keep pushing this genre to new heights."
The pop powerhouse Swift, who appeared on the red carpet in a shimmering, deep blue gown that alluded to her most recent album "Midnights," was another subject of interest for industry observers. She has been unable to win the Song of the Year award for several years.
The singer, who has been following through on a promise to re-record her first six albums in order to obtain ownership of them, has a chance to win the songwriter prize for her 10-minute rendition of "All Too Well."
– Best New Artist hopefuls strike gold –
After three Grammy years with Olivia Rodrigo, Megan Thee Stallion, and Billie Eilish as the undisputed Best New Artist favorites, Sunday's race is quite competitive.
Many of the nominees, including Brazilian singer Anitta, Eurovision rockers Maneskin, and rapper Latto, have all achieved viral stardom on TikTok. The category has become more diverse and representative of the internet age's influence on popular music.
Wet Leg won all of the categories for alternative music, and several of the contenders made quick progress. For example, Muni Long won the Best R&B Performance prize, denying Beyonce one of her nine chances to win, and Molly Tuttle took home the Best Bluegrass Album prize.
Samara Joy, a jazz singer, won the prize for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
